The Liebster Award

Sometimes i’m a little slow.  i finally found the questions i’m supposed to answer for the Liebster Award – yay!  Now i can accept, with lots of thanks to foxy at Daddy’s Naughty Little Girl.   If you haven’t read her blog, you should go visit her.

Here are the rules:

• When one receives the award, one posts 11 random facts about oneself and answers the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
• Pass the award onto 11 other blogs (while making sure one notifies the blogger that one nominated them!)
• One writes up 11 NEW questions directed towards YOUR nominees.
• One is not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated one’s own blog!
• One pastes the award picture into ones blog. (You can google the image, there are plenty of them!)

Here are my eleven random facts:

1.   i’m short.  Physically short, that is.  Not “little person” short, but short enough.  i’m quite ok with that.

2.  i was 20 years old before i got my drivers license ~ which is unusual in the States.

3.  i could read at four years old.

4.  i hated school until i got to college.

5.  i was scared of the dark as a child, and had nightmares for many years.

6.  i read everything i could get my hands on.  i locked myself in the bathroom and read my mother’s copy of Valley of the Dolls.

7.  i have way more clothes that are shades of purple than anything else ~ so much so that i’m not allowing myself to buy any purple clothes for a while.

8.  If i win the lottery, i have already completely planned how to spend the money.

9.  i always wanted a house with a big front porch, and a bay window with a seat i could sit in and read.

10.  i love being spanked ~ Sir says it’s a true fetish for me, and i think He’s probably right.

11.  i can be very quiet in person until i get to know someone.

Ok.  Now here are the questions i have to answer for foxy:

1.  What is your favorite drink?  Coffee.  Preferable fancy coffee with frothy milk and sugar-free-vanilla flavoring

2.  What would be idea of a perfect date?  Dinner at an elegant restaurant and a walk on the beach.

3.  What is your favorite song ever?  O, that’s really hard.  I guess ~ I don’t know.  Amazing Grace.  No, Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues.  Something by the Beatles.  Or ~ Ring of Fire by Social Distortion ~ oh, I don’t know.

4.  What would consider a turn-off in a partner?  Meanness to a server in a restaurant, or a child.

5.  What is all time favorite movie?  Hearts and Souls.

6.  If money was no object where would you like to visit the most, reason why?  Italy, because i’ve been there before and would like to go with Sir.

7.  Which famous person would you most like to sleep with and why?  Clark Gable.  Um, if he were alive, of course.  Because he was incredibly sexy and clearly a Dom.  

8.  Would you like to be spanked or be the spanker?  O, spanked!!

9.  Do you use Facebook or Twitter?  Facebook, all the damn time.

10.  What do you like for breakfast?  Nothing, usually, but oatmeal sometimes.  Or omelets.

11.  If you had the money would you consider plastic surgery, if yes where would get it done?  O, liposuction, yes, belly fat, poof gone – except, wait, they say if you do that and start gaining weight again it might be in some weird place like your elbows or your knees or something, plus, if i told anyone i was doing it they’d all be like, “Omg, what’s wrong with you, that’s so shallow, just eat healthy and exercise more, blah, blah, blah…  Sigh.

Ok, now for the questions i want people to answer:

Ok, and last, but certainly not least, here are the blogs i’m giving the award to.  The Liebster award is for blogs that have fewer than 200 followers, {according to the internet.} so that left out some of my usual award recipients.  This is good, because there are lots of blogs i read that are smaller or who don’t post as often, but that i’m wild about.  Here they are :

~  The Chrysanthemum and the Sword with Jade and Sir Rave ~ because i can feel their writing ~ it’s intensely personal, and yet it expresses universal feelings, and it overflows with love and the journey of discovering both self and the other.  Plus, jade is my good friend and i love to see her happy.

faerie learns to fly ~ because faerie is just delightful.  She can go from funny to serious to sexy and back to funny in a flash.  Plus, i love when she writes about ways that her relationship is helping her grow and experience life in new ways.

The monkey’s journey ~ with Little Monkey, because i’ve been following her forever, and i love the way she’s beginning to really figure out who she is and who she wants to be and finding ways to work on getting there.  i really admire that, and she shares her struggle and her joys with honesty and courage.

Ms Constance Explains  Because she’s funny and interesting, and it’s lots of fun to read about things i know about but also because she has a lot of good information to share about the kink world.

Leather Cuffs and Silken Bonds:  Because hearing Jake’s viewpoint on things is always interesting and provides an intelligent and thoughtful perspective.  The occasional post from Joy is icing on the cake.

The Black Leather Belt ~ Because Lily is sharp and funny and writes from a feminist perspective that i appreciate.  Some of her writing crosses into the kind of blogs i read in my vanilla life, which seems odd occasionally, but i really appreciate it.  AND she’s kinky.  

Dumb Domme ~ {who is not dumb at all} because she too is of that group of feminist kinky bloggers who’s very clear about it.  She provides a wonderful Domme perspective and is funny and interesting and sometimes touches my heart deeply.

Fondlers Anonymous  Because she’s in that wonderful stage of blog writing when she’s really just beginning to explore and define her feelings about all this and it’s endlessly fascinating.  Plus i just like her.

Sir Q and me Because Sir Q’s Mlb {whatever that stands for!} is a bit like fondles, kind of new and just venturing into the deep water, and that makes it such a pleasure to read her.  Like a vicarious beginner’s mind in Buddhism, i gain so much from her insight.

Kitty the Submissive Wife Because she’s got a wry way with words and a fresh way of looking at things that is just too much fun.  Almost domestic discipline, which is interesting to me, but with one foot in the kink world, i think she defies labels.

Jumping on In ~ Because she doesn’t post so often any more since real life got in the way, but she’s one of the funniest, smartest people i know, and i know she won’t have time to do the awards probably, and that’s ok, she just needs to be on my list.

A Reluctant Bitch Because i think Jz is a joy.  She’s my shoulder bumping buddy, cause she doesn’t hug and she’s just delightful.  And she probably won’t do this either, but go read her anyhow.  Tomorrow, i will tell you about her great recipe exchange, which is coming up.
