Quotes and songs and stuff from FB

22 Nov

I started my day posting this quote from Kahlil Gibran on FB:

“Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving.”

Mick is my friend on facebook, and he’s been posting songs that go with my quotes every day.  He’s really gifted at finding just the right song.  Today, he posted this link:

It’s a beautiful song, and not one i knew – unlike this match.  When my quote said:

“Love the moment and the energy of that moment will spread beyond all boundaries into blissful, peaceful happiness.”  (Unknown)

He said:

which, of course, is:

“Come on, people now/ Smile on your brother/ Everybody get together/ Try to love one another/ Right now!”

Perfect, isn’t it?

But the one from today is haunting, and i had to google the lyrics – in part, it goes like this:

White bird,
in a golden cage,
on a winter’s day,
in the rain.

White bird,
in a golden cage,

White bird must fly
Or she will die…

And finally, i re-posted this from another friend on fb – about the 13 indigenous grandmothers.  i saw them last summer here in where-i-live.

When i saw them, and even when i watch this, i have a sense of myself that is very much the same as when Sir has me wrapped in His rope or is starting fires on me.  i feel intensely aware of my self.

They're so beautiful...

interesting video…. of course it’s hard to see my aging mom fitting into this group. she’d be the one in the corner smoking a cigarette, drinking a beer with a straw and complaining about how Bristol Palin really isn’t that great of a dancer.

      Funny, Mick.

So maybe we don’t all follow the same path into old age, right?

Good to see you’re up and working early this morning! And thanks for all the music you bring to my days…
