Cookie Time! – The Great Online Cookie Exchange Extravaganza

7 Dec
You all know that baking is not really my strong suit, but i like to participate in community events, so here i am, with my little recipe.  i was going to call it “Novice Cookies,” ’cause they’re simple to make, but ~~
~~ um, don’t forget to let your butter warm up to room temp before you try to cream it, and it does take a while to make all those little balls.  But it’s still easier than cut-outs.  And less messy.
And delicious.

Directions:

  1. In a mixer bowl, cream together sugar and butter; beat in egg and vanilla.
  2. Combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add to butter mixture.
  4. Blend well.
  5. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or till firm enough to roll into balls.
  6. Shape dough into small balls about 3/4-inch in diameter.
  7. Roll in cinnamon sugar to coat.
  8. Set cookies 1-inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.
  9. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or till the edges are lightly browned.
    {i was going to put a picture of the completed cookies here, but my computer is suddenly uncooperative and won’t import the picture… so you’ll just have to imagine their golden lusciousness.}
  10. Cool slightly on pans, then remove to racks to cool completely.
    ******************
    They’re only 45 calories each…  and yummy.
    Here’s a list of all the cookie carrying blogs…  Bake and enjoy!
Tonight, i will be seeing Sir X, so tomorrow i should have a kinky thing or two to say.
P.S.  Unfortunately, my computer doesn’t understand spacing any more either, and i don’t have time to fight with it today… sorry.

    Anything with butter and cinnamon gets a huge thumbs-up from me!

    Thanks for playing along, ma’am!
    😉

    • aisha December 7, 2011 at 6:51 pm #

      Thank you, Jz, for starting this whole thing!! i realized after i went rushing out of the house this morning on my way to work that i forgot to say thanks to you in my post. Fortunately, tomorrow is a day also….

      And, um, you called me ma’am.

      Laughing… it’s cause aisha’s capitalized now, isn’t it?

      And David even sent me instructions on how to fix it, and I tried, but couldn’t make it work, and haven’t gotten back in touch with him for more help, and see ~~~

      ~~~ i knew it!! It makes it look like i’m a Domme, doesn’t it?
      Or… um….
      Either that, or you think i’m really old… that’s a whole ‘nother possibility…. yikes.
      Which is it????
      LOL ~ thanks, Jz ~
      hugs,
      aisha
      • Jz December 7, 2011 at 8:55 pm #
        It’s not nearly so good a story but “ma’am” is just a personal quirk.
        It’s kind of a pet name between me and one of my female relatives so that’s how it comes out.
        (and as I think I have at least 5 years on you, you may TRULY wipe the “is it cuz I’m old?” thing from your mind. Completely. Right now, even.)
      • aisha December 8, 2011 at 4:47 am #
        @Jz,
        Ahhh, in that case it’s a term of endearment! Nice…. The only person i say “Ma’am” to is Ms. Constance, and i s’pose that kind of a term of endearment too, since she’s not my Domme. But you know, mostly i was just messing with you.
        As for you having 5 years on me ~ i don’t think so. I did think you were considerably younger than me, but will consider the possibility that you’re not. i’m 55 though, i bet you’re not 60! 🙂
  14. greengirl December 8, 2011 at 8:59 am #
    yup – Snickerdoodles – and i love them – thanks!
  15. Alice December 8, 2011 at 9:09 am #
    They are very similar to Snickerdoodles, very very similar so I suppose you could call them “aisha’s Snickerdoodles” or something. Every Snickerdoodle recipe I’ve seen calls for cream of tartar, and does not include cinnamon in the actual cookie, but those are the only differences.
    Okay now that I’m done being technical (sorry!) they do sound delicious! And I will certainly be trying this out.
