20 Jan

i don’t usually work at my real job on Fridays, i get my hours in 4 days a week, so Friday’s my chance to take care of whatever business i need to do.

It also gives me some luxurious time when i don’t have to be rushing around.  Sometimes i make good use of that time, sometimes i fritter it away.

Although – really, who’s to say what’s a “good use” and what’s “frittering”?

Sometimes, i’ll spend a long time wandering around cyber-space, reading other people’s blogs.  i feel like ~ a bird feathering my nest, maybe.  Finding material and flying back home with it.

Sometimes it’s colorful:

Sometimes it’s not.

i don’t know what i’m going to do with it all.   Maybe i won’t actually do anything with it, just enjoy it as it is.

Some of it gets tucked away in particular cabinets in my brain.  Stories of abuse, domestic violence, rape… i have a huge cabinet of those stories and the feelings that go with them.

Love stories, tender stories, stories of passion ~ plenty of space for them.

Funny stories, irony, sarcasm, and things that make me laugh out loud… saving them up for a rainy day.

Sexy stories, erotica, pain and pleasure… yep, stored away, the bits and pieces i want to keep…

And some colorful tidbits get tucked into corners, others just float around in my head, looking for a place to settle.

Maybe i won’t do anything with them.  Or maybe i will.  Maybe someday i’ll weave them into something surprising and glorious.

    i love getting days like that…where all i need to do is read…they don’t happen very often, but i really enjoy them when they do. And it all becomes fodder…bits and pieces, just as you say, meant to be re-examined, rebraided into new tales …and i never know when one of those bits will be tied into a story i am working on…

    i don’t call that frittering at all …besides….aren’t fritters delightful fried bits of yummy…not something to be eaten often, but much enjoyed (with cinnamon sugar) when we do get a chance to eat them? in other words…a treat?

    enjoy your day, and let your brain seek its pleasure where it will. You give tons to people all week long…if you don’t fill your personal well, it will wind up empty…usually at the worst possible time…

    Hugs, and love,

      Yep, time to hang out and read is pure luxury. i didn’t actually get all day, but i got enough to be lovely. i agree, frittering a little is good for the soul, and it all gets processed and used in some way…

      Thanks for the support for my fritters!

    Yeah isn’t it funny. I sometimes store a bunch of those stories away and forget about them. Then one day I’ll have a block of time and just let it all bleed from my fingertips nonstop for hours until it’s finished! hehe. This is why I am good with short stories and blog posts but NOT with novels lol

      @Giggling Bunny ~

      That makes sense – hadn’t thought about it that way before!

      @faerie ~

      Omigosh, “surprising and glorious” is a huge maybe, ok? Don’t hold me to that…. laughing… anxiety attacks, performance anxiety – yikes, yikes…

      It’ll be fun in any case, won’t it?

    Mmmmmm aisha, sounds very nice!! Totally jealous of the frittering away…seriously pee green with envy. But that’s only because mouse needs a shower and a nap. Badly. 🙂

    And really the whole post was just lovely. You wove it all into something blissful!

    Cant wait to see what you do next!

      Dearest Mouse,

      Yes. You have a baby instead of fritters…laughing out loud. Hope you got your shower and nap both. Gosh, sometimes i remember those days so clearly, even though they were 28 years ago for me…

      i’m glad you like the post though – i kinda can’t wait to see what i do next either! 🙂

      Hi, FD,

      It was a lovely day ~ got to go have lunch with my friend Ms. Constance, who’s a lovely domme too! Yes, it’s worth working long days 4 days a week for the luxury of that Friday…
