Running on Empty

10 Feb

Jail runs.

Tragedy in the air

and on the news.

Clients in crisis

going up in flames all around me.

Late nights

and early mornings

crash into each other.

Stupid meetings ~ not

the lovers’ kind, but

mind-numbingly boring meetings

with people posturing, presenting look-good selves

modeling narcissistic stances

their self-proclaimed importance

sucking all the energy out of the room.

My eyes heavy

from lack of sleep

and unshed tears ~ will they notice

if i just nod off?  Snooze a little?

********************************************************************************

Having gotten that off my chest, about to get ready for my least favorite meeting in the universe, i want to invite bloggers to join us on February 15 and blog in support of Women’s Reproductive Rights.

    It’s a good poem.

I freakin HATE those meetings. Where it’s not your meeting and you have to go and it’s horrible. It sounds like your week was hard. I’m sorry. Big hug. At least it’s Friday?
