11 Feb

i went shopping yesterday, after my (two-hour} nap and another jail run.  i’m not really a shopping kind of gal, more a hunter than a gatherer in a store but i needed a new jacket and ~~

i found the cutest pair of boots.  What i think of as just-slightly kinky.  And since i’m running late this morning, {big shock, right} AND have chores to do, i thought i’d show you the boots:

Here’s a close up:

Cute, aren’t they?

i also got:  a shirt with buttons {i now have about 6,} two winter jackets, {one black, one purple} ~ the one i had, my first husband gave me for Christmas, and i’ve been divorced for going on 15 years now.  i got another pair of boots ~ short ones, with not very high heels ~ like you wear with boot leg pants ~ and a pair of black kind-of-like tennis shoes.  All for about $150.

i thought that was fairly amazing.

i haven’t forgotten that i need to finish my post on self-care, and it’s half written already ~ in my head.

And i get to see Sir tonight, if the stars are aligned right and neither one of us has to work.

It’s 27 degrees out there this morning, wind is 15 mph from the northeast, which means it’ll be whipping around like knives down near the river where i do my volunteer thing.  And sitting here writing is not gonna make it any warmer.  Gotta go find my long underwear now…

    oh geeze…now i have serious boot-envy.

Those are kick-ass boots, sis! Love love love love them. (pauses to wipe tears of envy away)

You are a great shopper…that’s quite a haul for the cash. Or as we say up here “Wicked kewl!”

And it’s warmer here (33) than where you are…but it is snowing, albeit very lightly. Very teeny flakes, you can hardly see it. We get cold and wind later this afternoon…about the time i head out of work i think, then we freeze tomorrow and Monday. Friend of mine has a crocus blooming in her yard. In Feb. In New England. (about 8-9 weeks early!)

Be warm! If you knew how envious of your new boots i am, you’d be glowing! *laughing*

    (running late herself today!)

      Dear ‘Nilla,

Yeah, i’m glad it’s still warm up there too ~ this was definitiely the worst Saturday of the year, and the winter’s almost over ~ for which I’m very grateful!!

Glad you like the boots ~ hoping Sir does… 🙂

Seriously a great shopping experience I say. The boots are *kisses with the Italian finger bunch* perfecto.

Read this and thought of you:

Thanks, Andi, nice that you like the shoes – and there couldn’t be a nicer way to say it than with the Italian fingertip kiss thing!!

Great quote!!! Yes. I love that.

Very nice haul on your shopping trip. I have been reading your self care posts, very thought provoking, thank you.

    Nice boots, Aisha!

That is quite a good shopping trip you had. Lots of bang for your buck!

Nothing quite like getting a good deal, and ALSO coming home with shoes.

    I like the quote, Andip.

Hope you’re staying warm, Aisha. We are expecting snow tonight. Just a light dusting but it will be our first snow of the Winter.

Thanks,Sky! Like i said, i’m not a big shopper usually, but when i do, i try to do it right.

I’m working on staying warm – it’s the coldest it’s been all year here, in the 20’s. Getting ready to head out into it. Don’t laugh, Sin. We think it’s cold here!

okay I love the boots but … it’s about 0 F here tonight (-16 C) and it’s been that cold all day. Boo. And winter isn’t almost over. So that makes me jealous. I am trying to recall why I live here. Sigh…

Do you suppose that’s why your winter coat can last you 15 years? Mine lasts a year, maybe 2. This year’s is super cute though.

Omg, omg, omg! Yikes. 16 below. i’d probably just freeze to death and die on the spot.

Yes, i can see why you’d wear out a coat pretty quickly!! i’m quite sure mine doesn’t get nearly as much use.

And there would be some advantages to getting new coats more often. i’d had two – a dress coat and my jacket – for frigging ever, and replaced both this year.
