Vanilla

24 Apr

Is actually my favorite flavor of ice cream.

i love ice cream.  Sugar cone or waffle cone, either one works, but preferably not that little round- with- a- flat- bottom -cardboard- tasting one.

Hard ice cream, hand scooped, is better than soft swirl.

Chocolate chocolate chip is pretty awesome too.  Preferably with big chunks of chocolate.  Mmmmm.

i’m a little goofy today.

Yesterday, someone pointed out to me how easy it would be to “out me” from this blog.  With just a little bit more information, they  connected me with my vanilla identify.

i know they were doing me a favor.

Sigh.

And i’m not as freaked out as some of you might be.  After all, these days there are more than a few people who know both my personnas.  It’s not the end of the world.  i just need to figure out how i want to handle it.

Also good news, i’m not really very blackmail-able.  Don’t have enough money to make it worthwhile,  And my kids are grown, no risk of them being removed.

Some of my  friends would be shocked.  But maybe not dreadfully.

And this person wasn’t trying to blackmail me.  Just giving me a heads up.

Sigh.

      Dear K,

You’re too funny – you can have whatever you want just as thanks for the sweet-talk!

Oh — it’s doubly true for me

but let’s think about how likely that is anyway

someone bumps into your boutique blog
who knows you well enough to draw the connection
    yes

    it could happen

    but most likely?

they’re also into the same things

    small readership has its advantages.

      Dear Sfp,

      Yep.

      Just not a likely event.

{Smiling…} Yes. Another advantage of boutique over corporate giant.

hmmmmm….i’d not have connected it, so someone had to go to some effort to do so.

And you’re right, blackmailing you wouldn’t be that fun. You’re open in your community. Your family?

I don’t think, having met them, that they’d be totally shocked.

And why do they need to know what you do in your bedroom, (living room, bathroom…:) ) anyway?

And you’re retiring soon, so…not much point in it.

Hugs, sis. It’s still stressful in its little niggling way, isn’t it.?

      Dear ‘Nilla,

      Yeah, exactly.

I really think that only kinksters are likely to identify me. But it’s a little unsettling.

Would never have considered one could trace clues to a blogger’s identity. Call me naive, or perhaps non tech savy. You are handling the news well.
    Take care

      Hi, Joyce,

Yeah, i knew it was possible but had just sort of turned my head away from it. Now, i’ve had to look at it straight on.

      Thanks for the support!!

Are you up for kidnapping? Cause …..you know….there is this event just two days away.

Someone cannot find you without putting effort into it and also proclaiming their own interest in the lifestyle. i would not worry about it. Lots of people are way less discreet about where-they-live. i’m thinking of a lawyer i called once, at work, to prove that i could find him when he said it was not possible. Master-lawyer-know-it-all decided to not change his tipoff information. (i should add…..i did this a decade ago. i wouldn’t bother now)

    • aisha April 25, 2012 at 6:04 am #

      Dear Jade,

Laughing… yes, come kidnap me! Absolutely! i soooo wish i could be there!

And that’s true too. Funny, i remember you telling me that story a while back about the lawyer. i guess it’s easier for us to imagine it happening to someone else than to ourselves.

      hugs,

Also, like your friend, i was simply concerned. i thought he was being unrealistic. i also thought that he was being stupid, doing this behind his wife’s back. Nothing ever happened to him so this is far from a cautionary tale.

      And THAT’S some good news!

Hope you’re not too unsettled about it.

    • aisha April 25, 2012 at 6:06 am #

Thanks, poured out. i think i’m ok… still thinking through possible ramifications and ways to beef up security.
