August 2

“As we stand there, it hits me how quickly everything changes – how life is like peering into a kaleidoscope, and just as you’re looking at a gorgeous pattern you think you’d maybe even like to keep around forever, the colors morph into something completely different, and there’s no getting back to that first pattern. No matter how much you’d like to see it again.”
― Holly Schindler, A Blue So Dark

Thank you all for the warm thoughts yesterday…  i’ll be back…

love,

Sucks. Just sucks. To have her go. I can’t imagine it. I’m tearing up as I write this.
Mine are too young. Not ready yet. But you’ve raised her for this? Raised her to be independent and mature. Given her … not the wings, but the ability to grow those wings for herself. You should be proud of her. And yes, I know it must be very very hard. It seems to me that you’re doing the right things, acknowledging your feelings, your right to them. And yes you’ll miss her and the baby. I’m glad you have Sir to help you and hold you.
    Sending you a hug, -sin

Thank you, Sin. Yeah, it does suck.

Fortunately, we grow to this point, it would have been unbearable if i’d known for sure we were headed here when she was much younger. And i did raise her for this, you’re right. She’s a smart, competent, independent, strong young woman. She loves me a lot too, so that’s a blessing.

And the internet makes things a bit easier. i can’t imagine having had to do this back in pioneer times, for example, when you didn’t know if you’d ever see each other again and it took ages for a letter to get somewhere.

And omigosh yes, Sir is a bright spot!

      thanks for the hug…
